Fuel Tank Assembly

Fuel Tank (typical):

REMOVAL
1. Remove the fuel from the tank.
2. Remove clamps from filler neck hose and vent line.
3. Remove fuel tank retaining straps. Support the fuel tank.
4. Disconnect fuel sender wires, hoses, and ground strap. Lower the fuel tank to gain access.
5. Remove the fuel tank from the vehicle.
6. Remove the fuel pump/sending unit from the tank. Refer to FUEL PUMP/FUEL GAUGE SENDING UNIT.
7. Purge fuel tank, if being repaired. Refer to FUEL TANK PURGING.

INSTALLATION
1. Install fuel sender and pump assembly into fuel tank.
2. Install fuel tank into vehicle.
3. Connect sending unit wires, hoses, and ground straps.
4. Install fuel tank retaining straps with insulator straps in place.
5. Install clamps to filler neck hose and vent lines.
6. Install bolts and nuts.
