Wiper Operates Intermittently

1. Remove fuse and connect an ammeter across fuse block terminals, then operate wipers at high speed with windshield dry. Note the lowest current draw indication.
2. If current draw is less than 5 amps, replace wiper motor. If current draw is more than 5 amps, replace blade elements and recheck.
3. If current draw is high, disconnect wiper linkage from crank arm and connect ammeter across fuse block with fuse removed.
4. If current draw is still high, replace wiper motor. If current draw is satisfactory, inspect wiper linkage and repair or replace components as needed.
