Assemble

1. Install piston seal protector tool No. J-38729 or equivalent, into housing, per figure.

2. Install piston and seal assembly into housing while rotating.

3. Compress spring and retainer assembly using clutch piston compressor tool No. J-23327 and adapter tool No. J-38734 or equivalents, then install snap ring.

4. Install clutch plates (three of each), backing plate and snap ring.




5. Place feeler gauge between backing plate and snap ring. Clearance should be 0.O33-.094 inch, per figure.
