Inspection

1. Inspect gear pockets, crescent, pump body face and bushing for scoring, nicks and wear.

2. Inspect oil passages for foreign material or debris, porosity, scored or irregular mating surfaces and cross channel leaks.

3. Inspect pump body bolt threads for damage.

4. Inspect oil seal and bushing for wear and damage.

5. Inspect gear face for wear and scoring.

6. Inspect stator shaft splines for damaged or stripped splines.

7. Inspect stator shaft bushings for wear and galling.

8. Inspect oil ring grooves for nicks, burrs and debris.

9. Inspect pressure regulator, converter limit valve assembly and TCC valve assembly for free movement of valves in bores, chips, burrs, distortion and plugged oil passages.

10. Ensure breather hole in pump cover is not blocked.




11. Install pump gears chamfer side down, then measure clearance between gears and body with a straightedge and a feeler gauge. Maximum clearance should be 0.0007-0.0028 inch, per figure.

12. Check pump body with a straight edge to ensure flatness.
