Preliminary Checks

A check of glow plug system should be performed before doing diagnostic procedures.
With engine below normal operating temperature, place ignition switch in RUN. WAIT Indicator should light. After approximately 10 seconds, WAIT Indicator must begin to flash for an additional 10 seconds and then go out.
Place ignition switch in OFF and then momentarily to START and return to RUN position. WAIT Indicator should flash for approximately 25 seconds and then go out.
With engine at normal operating temperature, place ignition switch in RUN. WAIT Indicator should not flash for VIN C engine and should flash for VIN J engine.
