Oil Pump
1. Remove retaining bolts and retainer from rear cover.
2. Remove pump body and pickup tube assembly from mainshaft.
3. Remove pins, spring and front cover from mainshaft.
4. Remove clamp, pickup tube and oil pickup from oil pump body.
5. Remove oil pump pickup from pickup tube.
6. Reverse procedure to install, noting the following:
a. Place oil pump cover with word Top facing front of case.
b. Install pins with flats facing upward with spring between pins, then place assembly into the oil pump bore in mainshaft.
c. When installing oil pump housing to mainshaft, ensure oil pump pins are riding against inside of pump housing.
d. Place oil pump rear cover with the words Top Rear facing rear of case.
e. The word Top on front cover and rear cover should be on the same side.
f. Install pump retainer with tabs facing front of transfer case.
g. Torque retainer bolts to 55 ft. lbs. Lubricate assembly with transmission fluid. The mainshaft must turn freely within the oil pump. If binding occurs, loosen four bolts and tighten again.
