Shift Solenoid "A"

Shift Solenoid "A" Circuit:

Purpose:
The Shift solenoid, when activated redirects fluid to act upon the shift valves.

Operation:
The PCM/TCM activates the solenoid by grounding it through an internal quad driver. Solenoid "A" is ON in 1st and 4th gear, but OFF in 2nd and 3rd gears. The shift solenoid "A" is usually blue in color.

Location:
Shift solenoid "A" is attached to the valve body.
