Accident With or Without Deployment

Certain Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) and restraint system components must be inspected after any crash, whether the air bag deployed or not. Those components are the following:
1. Steering column. Check dimensions.
2. Sensors, if in area of accident damage. Refer to /Sensor Replacement Guidelines for important information on sensor replacement in both deployment and non-deployment crashes.
3. Knee bolster and mounting points. Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking or other damage.
4. I/P braces. Inspect for any distortion, bending, cracking or other damage.
5. Seat belts and mounting points.
