Circuit Operation

Voltage to the Rear Liftgate Window Release system is available at all times through the HORN/DM Fuse and the ORN (240) wire. Ground for the Rear Window Release Control Relay is provided through the TAN/WHT (33) wire and the Parking Brake Warning Switch on manual transmissions or the ORN/BLK (434) wire and Park/Neutral Position Switch on automatic transmissions.

These Switches are closed to ground with the Parking Brake set or the transmission in PARK or NEUTRAL. Closing the Rear Liftgate Window Release Switch allows current to flow through the switch and the BRN (900) wire to the Rear Liftgate Window Release Control Relay.

The Relay is energized and current flows through the relay contacts and the BLK (142) wire to energize the Rear Liftgate Window Release Solenoid, which releases the Rear Window latch.
