Condition

Some owners may report clutch chatter or shudder when launching the vehicle from a stop.

Correction

The following components should be installed:

^ Clutch kit with revised tuning (disc and pressure plate assembly)

^ Release bearing with a steel sleeve

^ Release fork with corrected fork tip radius

^ New pilot bearing

Service Procedure

Follow the appropriate Service Manual procedure, Section 7C - Clutch, for clutch assembly replacement.

Important:
Align the light side of the pressure plate assembly, identified by a paint dot near a bolt hole, with the heavy side of the flywheel, identified by an "X". Tighten each pressure plate bolt one turn at a time to evenly compress the spring and avoid warping the pressure plate assembly.

Torque the pressure plate bolts to 40 N.m (29 lb ft).
