Owner Letter

Dear Chevrolet Customer:

This notice is sent to you in accordance with the requirements of the National Traffic and Motor Vehicle Safety Act.

REASON FOR THIS RECALL

General Motors has decided that a defect, which relates to motor vehicle safety exists in certain 1995 C/K pickups. The steering column to upper intermediate-shaft may not be torqued to the proper specification. The nut could detach allowing the through bolt that secures the upper intermediate-shaft to lower steering column shaft joint to fall out. With the bolt missing, this loose engagement may provide some noticeable noise and abnormal steering feeling to the operator. However, if these warnings do not occur, or go unheeded, the steering shafts can separate resulting in loss of steering control and possible crash.
