2001 and Prior Chevrolet and GMC S/T Models (S10, Blazer, Sonoma, Jimmy)
2001 and Prior Oldsmobile Bravada
With 4L60/4L65-E Automatic Transmission (RPOs M30 or M32)
The reaction shaft to reaction shell thrust washer was changed to a thrust bearing during the 2001 model year. This change required additional changes to the input carrier to reaction shaft thrust bearing, the reaction carrier shaft and the reaction sun shell.
Important:
Due to the changes in these components, the service kit must be used when servicing any of these components. Do not mix components of the old style with components of the new style. If you mix components, transmission end play will be compromised and transmission shifting may not occur. A service kit is available that will allow these revised components to be used in those transmissions that were built with the previous style components. The new service kit as well as the previous style components are both available through GMSPO.
