Engine - Engine Mount Clunk Noise/Leaking on Police Vehicles

Subject: -Police Pursuit Vehicle (PPV) Engine Mount Clunk Noise and/or Leaking

Models:
2007-2012 Chevrolet Tahoe Police Pursuit Vehicle (RPO PPV)

Condition

Some customers may comment on fluid leaks and/or a clunk noise during acceleration or deceleration.

Cause

The cause of this condition may be the hydraulic bushing in the motor mount leaking or the rubber material has separated from the metal portion of the mount. This condition is more prevalent on the left hand side.

Correction

Replace the hydraulic mount bushing with a solid mount bushing listed in parts information below. Refer to Engine Mount Replacement in SI.

Please advise the customer with the change to a solid mount bushing, slight noise, vibration and harshness may be felt especially at idle or during Active Fuel Management (AFM) cycles.
