Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

This bulletin supersedes Technical Service Bulletin #08-05-83 which should be removed from your files.

FIGURE 1:

Later-built control modules for the audible message system have a "Voice/Tone" switch (Figure 1).

If desired, the voice message feature can be eliminated by switching to the "Tone" position. This will provide a chime warning system for the *"Fasten Seatbelt", "Key In", and "Headlamp-On" conditions. These are the only tones which will be given while the switch is in the "Tone" position..

Later-built control modules will give each voice message only once, rather than twice as with the original modules.

When testing the system in the demonstration mode (driver's door open and holding the door-ajar switch in the closed position), the system will cycle through all voice messages with the switch in either the "Voice" or the "Tone" positions. The switch must be in the "Voice" position when diagnosing a problem with the voice alert feature. It is not necessary to remove the module to operate the switch.
