Thermostatic Air Cleaner: Service and Repair


VACUUM DIAPHRAGM, REPLACE

1. Remove air cleaner housing from vehicle.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from diaphragm, drill through rivets, then tilt diaphragm slightly forward and rotate unit counterclockwise to disengage lock.
3. When diaphragm is free from snorkel, slide assembly to one side to disengage operating rod from heat control door and remove from air cleaner snorkel.
4. Reverse procedure to install.

SENSOR, REPLACE

1. Remove air cleaner housing from vehicle.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from sensor and remove sensor retaining clips.
3. Remove sensor and gasket assembly from air cleaner.
4. Reverse procedure to install.
