The 1984 A-460 transaxle assembly is used to service 1981-1983 A-460 transaxle assemblies.

In order to use the 1984 transaxle assembly in 1981-1983 model year vehicles, it is necessary to transfer the gearshift operating lever from the old transaxle to the new one (Figure 1) prior to installation. Install a new prevailing-torque nut attaching the lever to the selector shaft and torque to 28 N-m (21 foot pounds).
