Wiper Motor: Testing and Inspection

1. Remove lift gate trim panel.
2. Ensure link, pivot or motor parts are not disconnected.
3. Disconnect wiper motor feed connector.
4. With ignition On and wiper switch Off, check for battery voltage at brown wire.
5. With ignition switch On and wiper switch On, check for battery voltage at blue wire. If battery voltage is not obtained in steps 4 and 5, inspect circuit breaker, lift gate wiper switch and wiring.
6. If battery voltage is obtained in steps 4 and 5 but wiper motor does not operate, remove motor and linkage assembly from vehicle and apply 12 volts to blue wire terminal of motor connector. If motor operates, inspect pivot for binding and replace if necessary. If motor does not operate, replace motor.
