Subject: Emissions Recall # 438 -- Oxygen Sensor

Models: 1984 Model Year Cars Equipped With a 2.2L EFI Engine and Federal Emission System:

- Dodge 600 and Daytona

- Chrysler E Class, Laser, LeBaron and New Yorker


The listed model cars may emit carbon monoxide in excess of the Federal Emissions Standards due to a loss or slowing of output from the oxygen sensor. To ensure compliance to the standards, the oxygen sensor must be replaced.

Details of this service action are explained in the following sections. As an additional service aid, a videotape demonstrating the service procedure is included in the May, 1989 M.T.S.C. program.
