Coolant Temperature Sensor

EXC. 1982 - 86 Front Wheel Drive Models
1. With ignition Off, disconnect coolant sensor electrical connector.
2. Connect one ohmmeter lead to terminal 1 of sensor, Fig. 12.
3. Connect other ohmmeter lead to terminal 2 of sensor.
4. With coolant sensor at room temperature (70°F), the ohmmeter should read 10500 - 13000 ohms.
5. With coolant sensor hot (200°F), the ohmmeter should read 650 - 750 ohms.
6. Replace coolant sensor if specifications cannot be obtained.
