Igniter
The Electronic Controlled Ignition (ECI) System uses an externally mounted control unit Electronic Spark Control Igniter (ESC) in conjunction with the vacuum advance unit, to control the ignition timing under all engine conditions.
Input signals from the distributor and detonation sensor are monitored by the ESC and the ECI control units. The control units use these signals to control the ignition timing, wastegate control and fuel mixture, for optimum performance.
