DR-16F Checking MAP Sensor

Complete Driveability Test 16, Step E before proceeding.

This test must be performed with engine cold.

1. With diagnostic read-out tool connected to engine test connector and engine in a ``cold'' condition, place system in Sensor Test Mode 08.
2. Disconnect vacuum hose from MAP sensor and connect an auxiliary vacuum supply to MAP sensor.
3. Apply 5 inches of vacuum and record voltage displayed on read-out tool, then apply 20 inches of vacuum and record voltage displayed.
4. Subtract voltage at 20 inches from voltage at 5 inches to get voltage difference.
5. If read-out tool shows an un-interrupted change of voltage between 5 and 20 inches of vacuum, and if voltage difference is 1.1---1.4 volts, repair vacuum line to MAP sensor for a restriction.
6. If read-out tool shows an interrupted change of voltage between 5 and 20 inches of vacuum, and if voltage difference is not between 1.1 and 1.4 volts, replace MAP sensor.
