SYMPTOM/CONDITION
Vehicle may exhibit high latching effort especially if top has been stowed for extended period of time.
DIAGNOSIS
Verify that top has proper adjustment and fit. (Refer to the August, 1987 Master Tech for correct adjustment procedures.) After verification, proceed to Repair Procedure.
PARTS REQUIRED
2 Latch Hooks PN 4534402
REPAIR PROCEDURE
The following procedure outlines the installation of new convertible top latch hooks.
1. Unlatch top and raise part way.
2. Loosen hook-set screw using a 1/8 inch size hex-key wrench.
3. Unscrew old hooks to remove.

4. Screw in new hook all the way and back out until it is pointing straight ahead (see Figure 1).
5. Lower top and latch to test for proper fit. Adjust hook as necessary.
6. Retighten hook set screw.
