EGR Valve: Service and Repair


EGR Valve:






REMOVAL

1. Disconnect Electronic EGR Transducer (EET) vacuum supply tube.
2. Disconnect EET electrical connector.
3. Slide transducer out of mounting bracket.
4. Loosen EGR tube at intake manifold.
5. Remove EGR tube bolts at EGR valve.
6. Remove EGR valve mounting bolts.
7. Remove EGR valve and assembly.


INSTALLATION

1. Clean gasket mating surfaces.
2. Install EGR valve and EET assembly, with new gasket.
3. Torque EGR valve mounting bolts to 200 in-lbs (23 Nm).
4. Using new gaskets, install EGR tube.
5. Torque EGR tube mounting bolts at valve to 95 in-lbs (11 Nm).
6. Torque EGR tube mounting bolts at intake to 200 in-lbs (23 Nm).
7. Install EET.
8. Connect EET vacuum supply hose.
9. Connect EET electrical connector.
