Oil Charge Additions

A new service fixed displacement type compressor contains 7.25 ounces of refrigerant oil. A new service variable displacement type compressor contains 8.7 ounces of refrigerant oil. Before installing replacement compressor, drain oil from replacement and failed compressors (drain oil from suction port). Add same amount of oil to replacement compressor as drained from failed compressor.

When other air conditioning system components are replaced add the following quantities of 500 viscosity refrigerant oil:
- Evaporator - 2 ounces
- Condenser - 1 ounce
- Filter-Drier - 1 ounce
