Camshaft Sensor:

Removal

1. Disconnect electrical connector.
2. Remove retaining bolt and sensor.

Installation

Notes:

If the sensor is to be reused, a new paper spacer must be used. Be sure to remove the old spacer from the sensor face completely, before attaching new spacer.

If the sensor is being replaced, confirm that there is a paper spacer attached to the face of the new sensor (Fig. 5).


1. If old sensor is to be installed, clean spacer off sensor face, and attach a new spacer to the face before installing.
2. Install sensor in head.
3. Push sensor so paper spacer contacts cam gear. Hold in this position, and torque retaining bolt to 145 in-lbs (16 Nm).
4. Connect sensor electrical connector.
