SYMPTOM/CONDITION:




B-pillar appliques are loose or pulled away from the door at the top. This condition is caused by poor adhesion of the retaining tape at the inside top edge of the applique. Vehicles with loose appliques should have the repair procedure performed.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

This bulletin involves replacing loose or pulled away B-pillar appliques.

1. Remove the door trim panel, outer belt molding, glass, and glass run weatherstrip as described on pages 23-12 & 13 of the 1995 Cirrus/Stratus Service Manual (Publication No. 81-270-5121).

2. Remove the existing applique.

3. Clean old adhesive from door frame surface beneath applique using 3M General Purpose Adhesive Cleaner, P/N 08984, or equivalent.

4. Wipe door frame surface clean with isopropyl alcohol to remove any left over residue, and dry with a clean dry cloth.

5. Properly align new applique to height of adjoining door applique.

6. Peel the release liner on the applique tape and pressurize against door frame to ensure total adhesion.

7. Assemble door reversing the disassembly procedure.

8. Repeat procedure on remaining door appliques as necessary.
