Antilock Brakes / Traction Control Systems: Service Precautions

General service precautions should be followed when servicing the ABS system. Failure to do so may cause ABS system component failure. Service precautions are as follows:

1. Many ABS system components are not independently serviceable and must be replaced with their respective assemblies.
2. CAB connector should never be disconnected or connected with ignition switch in On position.
3. If arc welding is being performed on vehicle, disconnect Controller, Antilock Brake (CAB) electrical connector during welding operation.
