Brake Light Switch: Service and Repair

The brake light switch incorporates a self adjusting feature. If replacement or adjustment is required, proceed as follows:
1. Install switch in retaining bracket and push switch forward as far as possible. The brake pedal will move forward slightly.
2. Gently pull back on brake pedal bringing striker back toward switch until brake pedal stops. This will cause switch to ratchet backward to the correct position. Very little movement is required and no further adjustment is necessary.
