Measuring Hub End Play (Front or Rear)

1. Remove and suspend the caliper out of the way (disc brakes)

2. Remove rotor from the hub or brake drum from hub.





3. Attach a dial indicator as shown in figure 5 and measure end play by moving the hub in an axial (in/out) direction.

4. If end play exceeds 0.05 mm (0.002 in.) replace the hub assembly.
