Removal

(1) Remove flywheel or drive plate.
(2) Remove rear plate.
(3) Remove oil filter.
(4) Remove adapter.
(5) Drain engine oil and remove oil pan.
(6) Clean oil pan and all gasket surfaces.
(7) Remove oil pick-up tube.





(8) Remove crankshaft sprocket using Special Tool 6793.

Caution: Do not nick shaft seal surface or seal bore.





(9) Use Tool 6771 to remove front crankshaft oil seal. Be careful not to damage the seal surface of cover.
(10) Remove oil pump.
