EGR Control Solenoid: Description and Operation
OPERATION: The
EGR solenoid is actuated by the PCM when the engine is at normal operating temperature.
Throttle position sensor shows other than idle or wide open throttle
(WOT) and manifold absolute pressure
(MAP) is in mid operating range. The PCM looks for a current spike when actuating the solenoid. If the spike is not present the PCM sets a trouble code.
