Positive Crankcase Ventilation: Testing and Inspection
CRANKCASE VENTILATION SYSTEM INSPECTION 1.
Remove the rocker cover side of the
PCV valve hose.
2.
Start the engine and run at idle.
3.
Place a finger at the opening of the PCV valve, and confirm that vacuum of the intake manifold is felt.
NOTE: At this time, the plunger in the PCV valve moves forward and backward.
4.
If vacuum is not felt, replace the PCV valve.
