Component Tests and General Diagnostics

Check the plug gap. Replace it if the gap exceeds the limit.

Standard value: 1.0 - 1.1 mm (0.039 - 0.043 in.)
Limit: 1.3 mm (0.051 in.)

CAUTION:
1. Do not attempt to adjust the gap of the platinum plug.
2. Do not use wire brushes to clean the platinum plug. If not, the platinum tip will be damaged. If carbon deposits must be removed, use a plug cleaner. Finish cleaning within 20 seconds to prevent electrode from damaging.
