Orderly Shutdown

When transmission LIMP-IN is called for by the controller, rather than immediately opening the transmission control relay to force 2nd gear, several conditions are evaluated and an orderly shutdown process is followed. Depending on speed and the trouble code set, the shift to second gear may be delayed or a neutral condition invoked until vehicle speed is reduced to allow a safe shift to 2nd gear.
