Heated Mirrors Test

The content of this article reflects the changes called out by TSB 26-12-00.

1. Check the heated mirror fuse and repair as necessary. This fuse is located in line with the Rear Window Defogger Relay under the right rear panel carpeting in the trunk.
2. Using a ohmmeter, check Pin 1 of the mirror motor harness connector for continuity to ground. If OK, go to Step 3. If not OK, repair as necessary.
3. Activate the rear window defogger switch, use a voltmeter and check Pin 3 for battery voltage.
a. If OK, go to Step 4. If not OK, Step b.
b. Check rear window defogger switch, refer to Electrically Heated Systems. If OK, go to Step c. If not OK, repair as necessary.
c. If no voltage repair wire as necessary.

4. Remove mirror glass and check wires. If wires are OK, replace mirror glass. If not OK, repair as necessary or replace mirror.
