Cylinder Head Bolt Torque
CYLINDER HEAD BOLT TORQUE/SEQUENCETighten bolts in the order shown. When tightening the cylinder head bolts, tighten gradually, working in two or three steps and final tighten to specified torque of 108 Nm (80 ft. lbs.).
CYLINDER HEAD SURFACE VARIATION
Maximum Allowable Surface Variation .007"
Use a straightedge and feeler gauge to check the flatness of the engine cylinder head and block mating surfaces.
CYLINDER HEAD BOLT REUSABILITY
The cylinder head bolts are tightened using a torque/re-torque procedure. The bolts must be examined BEFORE reuse. If the bolts threads no not pass inspection, the bolts must be replaced.
Bolt necking can be checked by holding a straight edge against the threads. If all the threads do not contact the scale, the bolt must be replaced.
