Radiator Support: Service and Repair

SUPPORT - UPPER RADIATOR

REMOVAL




1. Open and support the hood.
2. Remove the rubber hood seal (9) from the flange of the upper radiator support (1).
3. Remove the upper grille.
4. If required, remove the hood latch (3) from the upper radiator support.
5. If equipped, remove the ambient temperature sensor (4) from the support bracket (5).
6. Remove the bolt (6) that secures the support bracket to the upper radiator support.
7. Remove the six bolts (2) that secure the upper radiator support to the fenders.
8. If required, remove the hood bumpers (7) and upper radiator mounting brackets (8) from the upper radiator support.

INSTALLATION




1. Position the upper radiator support (1) to the front of the vehicle.
2. Install the six bolts (2) that secure the upper radiator support to the fenders. Tighten the bolts securely.
3. Install the bolt (6) that secures the support bracket (5) to the upper radiator support. Tighten the bolt securely.
4. If equipped, install the ambient temperature sensor (4) onto the support bracket.
5. If removed, install the hood latch (3) onto the upper radiator support.
6. Install the upper grille.
7. If removed, install the hood adjustment bumpers (7) to the upper radiator support.
8. If removed, install the upper radiator mounting brackets (8) to the upper radiator support.
9. Install the rubber hood seal (9) onto the flange of the upper radiator support.
10. Verify hood alignment and latch operation. The hood should have even gaps aligned to 4 mm (0.160 in.) to the adjacent body panels.
