Blower Motor: Service and Repair
The blower motor is located on the bottom right side of the unit housing. The blower motor can be removed without having to remove the heater-A/C unit housing from the vehicle. The blower wheel is only serviced with the blower motor. The wheel and the motor are balanced as a unit. If the blower wheel requires replacement, the blower motor must also be replaced.REMOVAL
Heater Only
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
2. Remove the two push-pin fasteners that secure the right silencer pad to the lower edge of the instrument panel.
3. Pull the right silencer pad rearward to remove it from under the instrument panel.

4. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the blower motor pigtail wiring connector. Then the tab located on the edge of the blower motor mounting flange nearest the dash panel.
6. While holding the locking tab down, grasp the blower motor firmly and rotate it approximately 1/8 turn counterclockwise.
7. Lower the blower motor and wheel straight down from the heater unit housing.
Heater-A/C
1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative - cable.
2. Remove the two push-pin fasteners that secure the right silencer pad to the lower edge of the instrument panel.
3. Pull the right silencer pad rearward to remove it from under the instrument panel.
4. Disconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector from the blower motor pigtail wiring connector.

5. Remove the four screws that secure the blower motor to the heater-A/C unit housing.
6. Lower the blower motor and wheel straight down from the heater unit housing.
INSTALLATION
Heater Only
1. Position the blower motor and wheel in the heater unit housing.
2. Grasp the blower motor firmly and rotate it approximately 1/8 turn clockwise, until the locking tab snaps into place with an audible click.
3. Reconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector to the blower motor pigtail wiring connector.
4. Insert the tabs on the forward edge of the instrument panel right silencer pad into the slots in the dash panel silencer pad under the instrument panel.
5. Install the two push-pin fasteners that secure the right silencer pad to the lower edge of the instrument panel.
6. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
Heater-A/C
1. Position the blower motor and wheel in the heater unit housing.
2. Install and tighten the four screws that secure the blower motor to the heater-A/C unit housing. Tighten the screws to 2.2 Nm (20 in. lbs.).
3. Reconnect the instrument panel wire harness connector to the blower motor pigtail wiring connector.
4. Insert the tabs on the forward edge of the instrument panel right silencer pad into the slots in the dash panel silencer pad under the instrument panel.
5. Install the two push-pin fasteners that secure the right silencer pad to the lower edge of the instrument panel.
6. Reconnect the battery negative cable.
