THIS BULLETIN IS BEING PROVIDED IN ADVANCE. THE DRBIII(R) MUST BE OPERATING AT LEVEL 55.7 ISIS MUST BE AT CD2134 (AVAILABLE July 4, 2003) OR HIGHER.
SUBJECT:
Flash: Speed Control will Not Engage Above 137 Km/h (85 mph)
OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves selectively erasing and reprogramming the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) with new software.
MODELS:
2002 (RG) Chrysler Voyager (International Markets)
NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH A 3.3L ENGINE (SALES CODE EGA) AND PCM P/N 04748433AF.
SYMPTOM/CONDITION:
Speed control will not engage above 137 Km/h (85 mph). This may be accompanied by Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) P0172, Fuel System Rich.
DIAGNOSIS:
Using a Scan Tool (DRBIII(R)) with the appropriate Diagnostic Procedures Manual, verify all engine systems are functioning as designed. If DTCs are present, record them on the repair order and repair as necessary before proceeding further with this bulletin.
If the vehicle operator or technician experiences the Symptom/Condition and vehicle is equipped with p/n 04748433AF PCM, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:
1. Using the DRBIII(R), obtain and record the current PCM part number.
2. Use the null modem cable to connect the DRBIII(R) to the computer with the Benchtop Programmer/DRBIII(R) Winflash II application. The DRBIII(R) must be at version level 55.7 or higher.
3. Remove any PCMCIA card from the DRBIII(R).
4. From the DRBIII(R) Main Menu, select Run Memory Card Program (Option 5), and then select Attempt Serial Communications (Option 1). Take no action when the DRBIII(R) screen displays the following messages: No Memory Card Detected, Attempting Serial Communications Link, Press Page Back To Exit.
5. Using ISIS CD 2134 (July 4, 2003), reinstall or upgrade the existing Benchtop Programmer/DRBIII(R) Winflash II application on the computer. The Installation and User's guides are located on the ISIS CD under the Software Help folder for additional assistance.
6. Launch the computer Benchtop Programmer/DRBIII(R) Winflash II application.
7. Click on the computer Mode menu and select DRBIII(R) Winflash. The DRBIII(R) Winflash application should display the following words in green, DRB Connected.
8. Either enter the PCM part number (preferred and obtained earlier), or use the following criteria to select the flash from the drop down list:
a. Select 2002 Model Year.
b. Select RG Body Style.
c. Select 3.3L Engine.
NOTE:
THE PREFERRED METHOD TO SELECT THE CORRECT SOFTWARE IS BY ENTERING THE CURRENT PCM PART NUMBER INTO THE ISIS BENCHTOP PROGRAMMER/DRBIII(R) WINFLASH II APPLICATION.
9. Select the desired PCM Flash update from the table grid list on the computer.
10. Click the Download button on the computer to send the file to the DRBIII(R).
11. Connect the DRBIII(R) to the vehicle and select Vehicle Flash (Option 7) from the DRBIII(R) Main Menu.
12. Carefully follow the instructions on the DRBIII(R) screen and complete the PCM reprogramming process. Power down the PCM by turning the ignition switch to the OFF position, and disconnect the DRBIII(R) from the vehicle.
13. Type the necessary information on the "Authorized Software Update Label" p/n 05011058AA. Attach the label to the PCM and cover the label with the clear plastic overlay (Fig. 1).
