THIS BULLETIN IS BEING PROVIDED IN ADVANCE. THE MDS2 MUST BE OPERATING WITH CIS/ISIS CD2123 OR HIGHER AVAILABLE DEC. 23, 2002.

SUBJECT:
Horn Self Actuates

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves flash reprogramming the Body Control Module (BCM).

MODELS:

2003 (JR) Sebring Sedan/Stratus Sedan

NOTE:
THIS BULLETIN APPLIES TO VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH BCM P/N's 04602379AG, AF, AH, AI, AJ or AK.

SYMPTOM/CONDITION:

The horn actuates when customer exits the vehicle and produces an electrostatic discharge. The electrostatic discharge causes the BCM to actuate the horn.

DIAGNOSIS:

If the vehicle operator describes the above Symptom, perform the Repair Procedure.

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

NOTE:
WHENEVER A PCM/TCM IS REPLACED OR REPROGRAMMED, THE SOFTWARE IN THE CONTROLLER AND DRBIII(R) MUST BE VERIFIED AS HAVING THE LATEST REVISION LEVEL.

1. Connect a Battery Charger and set as close to 14 volts charge as possible.

2. Flash reprogram the BCM using the MDS2, operating at CD 2123 or higher, and the DRBIII(R) operating at software release level 55.3 or higher.
