Front Seat Belt and Retractor - PT27

REMOVAL
1. Release hood latch and open hood.
2. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.

WARNING: WAIT TWO MINUTES FOR THE AIRBAG SYSTEM RESERVE CAPACITOR TO DISCHARGE BEFORE BEGINNING ANY AIRBAG SYSTEM OR COMPONENT SERVICE. FAILURE TO DO SO MAY RESULT IN ACCIDENTAL AIRBAG DEPLOYMENT, PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH.

Seat Belt Web Guide:

3. Remove the seat belt from within the seat belt web guide.

Lower Anchor Bolt:

4. Remove the seat belt anchor bolt.
5. Remove the upper turning loop retaining bolt.
6. Remove the Lower Quarter Trim Panel.

Tensioner Squib Connector:

7. Disconnect the tensioner squib connector.

Retractor - Remove/Install:

8. Remove the one bolt to the front seat belt retractor.
9. Remove retractor from vehicle.

INSTALLATION
1. Position retractor in vehicle.
2. Install the one bolt to the front seat belt retractor. Torque bolt to 40 N.m (30 ft.lbs.).
3. Connect the tensioner squib connector.
4. Install the Lower Quarter Trim Panel.
5. Install the upper turning loop retaining bolt. Torque bolt to 40 N.m (30 ft.lbs.).
6. Install the seat belt anchor bolt. Torque bolt to 40 N.m (30 ft.lbs.).
7. Route the seat belt within the seat belt web guide.

WARNING: DO NOT CONNECT THE BATTERY NEGATIVE CABLE. PERSONAL INJURY OR DEATH MAY RESULT IF THE SYSTEM TEST IS NOT PERFORMED FIRST.

8. Close hood.
9. Verify vehicle and system operation.
