Restraint System - Proper Seat Belt Routing And Twist
NUMBER: 23-007-04GROUP: Body
DATE: March 2, 2004
SUBJECT:
Proper Front Seat Belt Routing And Twist
MODELS:
2005 (PT) Chrysler PT Convertible
DISCUSSION:
To provide optimum occupant comfort the front seat belts should be routed through the seat belt guides attached to the headrests.
Vehicles built on and after Feb.16, 2004 (MDH 0216XX) have a 180 degree twist in the seat belt webbing between the turning loop and the lower anchor. This twist changes the webbing orientation so the pressure of the webbing edge is taken oft of the occupant's neck and is more on the occupant's shoulder. Do not try to eliminate the seat belt's twisted appearance, (Fig. 1).
