Center Cap Medallion Replacement

OVERVIEW:
This bulletin involves procedures to replace medallions on the center cap of the wheel.

MODELS:

2007 (ZH) Crossfire

DISCUSSION:
If the medallion on the center cap of a wheel(s) needs replacement, a parts kit is available to replace the medallions only. All medallions need to be replaced.

DIAGNOSIS:
If one or more of the medallions on the center cap of a wheel(s) needs replacement, perform the Repair Procedure.





PARTS REQUIRED:





SPECIAL TOOLS/EQUIPMENT REQUIRED:

REPAIR PROCEDURE:

1. Remove center cap and place face down on foam pad or other protected surface.

2. Drill 1/4 (6.35mm) hole in the center area of the center cap WITHOUT penetrating medallion.

3. Using a screwdriver or other blunt object, push the medallion off the center cap.

4. Clean any adhesive residue from center cap with isopropyl alcohol and allow to dry.

NOTE:
Ensure all components are above 70° Fahrenheit (21° C) at time of installation.

5. Install tape, (supplied in parts kit) on the center cap to cover drilled hole.

CAUTION:
Avoid contaminating the emblem adhesive prior to assembly.

6. Install new medallion in center cap. Apply pressure in a rolling manner from one edge across and outward to remove air.

7. Install center cap on wheel.

8. Repeat process for remaining wheel center caps.
