B1085-LEFT HEATED SEAT SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT LOW





For a complete wiring diagram, refer to the Wiring Information Electrical Diagrams.

- When Monitored:
Ignition on, during the heated seat operation.

- Set Condition:
When the Cluster detects that the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit is low.





1. VERIFY DIAGNOSTIC TROUBLE CODE (DTC) B1085-LEFT HEATED SEAT SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT LOW IS ACTIVE
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, record and erase DTCs.
3. Operate the Heated Seat Switch in both positions several times.
4. With the scan tool, read DTCs.

Is DTC B1085-LEFT HEATED SEAT SWITCH INPUT CIRCUIT LOW active?

Yes

- Go To 2

No

- The conditions that caused this code to set are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

2. INSPECT JB FUSE #19




1. Inspect JB Fuse #19.

Is the fuse open?

Yes

- Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect wiring, connectors, and components for the cause of the open fuse, and repair as necessary.
- Replace JB Fuse #19.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 3

3. CHECK (F21) FUSED IGNITION SWITCH OUTPUT (RUN-START) CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT DRIVER HEATED SEAT SWITCH




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Reinstall JB Fuse #19 if removed in previous step.
3. Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Switch connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Measure the voltage of the (F21) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run-Start) circuit between the Driver Heated Seat Switch connector and ground.

Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?

Yes

- Go To 4

No

- Repair the (F21) Fused Ignition Switch Output (Run-Start) circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

4. CHECK (P7) DRIVER HEATED SEAT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT VOLTAGE AT CLUSTER




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Reconnect the Driver Heated Seat Switch connector.
3. Disconnect the Cluster C1 connector.

NOTE: Check connectors - Clean and repair as necessary.

4. Turn the ignition on.
5. Measure the voltage of the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit between the Cluster C1 connector and ground while momentarily pressing and holding the heated seat switch in the LO position.

Is the voltage above 10.0 volts?

Yes

- Replace the Cluster.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 5

5. CHECK (P7) DRIVER HEATED SEAT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND




1. Turn the ignition off.
2. Disconnect the Driver Heated Seat Switch connector.
3. Measure the resistance of the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit between ground and the Driver Heated Seat Switch connector.

Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit for a short to ground.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 6

6. CHECK (P7) DRIVER HEATED SEAT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO (Z968) GROUND CIRCUIT




1. Measure the resistance between the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit and the (Z968) Ground circuit at the Driver Heated Seat Switch connector.

Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

Yes

- Repair the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit for a short to the (Z968) Ground circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Go To 7

7. CHECK (P7) DRIVER HEATED SEAT SWITCH MUX CIRCUIT FOR AN OPEN




1. Measure the resistance of the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit between the Driver Heated Seat Switch connector and the Cluster C1 connector.

Is the resistance below 5.0 Ohms?

Yes

- Replace the Driver Heated Seat Switch.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.

No

- Repair the (P7) Driver Heated Seat Switch MUX circuit for an open.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Body Verification Test.
