Cylinder Head Assembly

CYLINDER HEAD





Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown. Using the torque-turn method, tighten according to the following values:
First: All to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.)
Second: All to 82 Nm (60 ft. lbs.)
Third: All to 82 Nm (60 ft. lbs.)

CAUTION: Do not use a torque wrench for the Fourth step.

Fourth: Turn all bolts an additional 1/4 Turn

HEAD BOLT REUSE/REPLACE

The Cylinder head bolts should be examined BEFORE reuse. If the threads are necked down, the bolts should be replaced.

SURFACE VARIATION

Deck surface 0.1 mm (0.004 in.)

INTAKE MANIFOLD

On engines equipped with an aluminum intake manifold - Upper-Bolts (Turbo) 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.)
On engines equipped with a plastic intake manifold - Upper-Bolts (Turbo) 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)
On engines equipped with an aluminum intake manifold - Lower-Bolts (Turbo) 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.)
On engines equipped with a plastic intake manifold - Lower-Bolts (Turbo) 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)

CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP





Camshaft Bearing Cap M6 fasteners 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)
Camshaft Bearing Cap M8 fasteners 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.).

EXHAUST MANIFOLD





Exhaust Manifold - Bolts 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.)

CAMSHAFT SPROCKET

Camshaft Sprocket - Bolt 115 Nm (85 ft. lbs.)
