Engine Torque Specifications






TORQUE






CYLINDER HEAD





Tighten the cylinder head bolts in the sequence shown. Using the torque-turn method, tighten according to the following values:
First: All to 34 Nm (25 ft. lbs.)
Second: All to 82 Nm (60 ft. lbs.)
Third: All to 82 Nm (60 ft. lbs.)

CAUTION: Do not use a torque wrench for the Fourth step.

Fourth: Turn all bolts an additional 1/4 Turn

HEAD BOLT REUSE/REPLACE

The Cylinder head bolts should be examined BEFORE reuse. If the threads are necked down, the bolts should be replaced.

LOWER INTAKE MANIFOLD





On engines equipped with an aluminum intake manifold (Turbo) 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.)
On engines equipped with a plastic intake manifold (Turbo) 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)

UPPER INTAKE MANIFOLD





On engines equipped with an aluminum intake manifold 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.)
On engines equipped with a plastic intake manifold 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)


CAMSHAFT BEARING CAP





Camshaft Bearing Cap M6 fasteners 12 Nm (105 in. lbs.)
Camshaft Bearing Cap M8 fasteners 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.).

MAIN BEARING CAP





Tighten bolts (1-10) again to 41 Nm (30 ft. lbs.) in sequence shown.
Install main bearing bed plate to engine block bolts (11-20), and torque each bolt to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) in sequence shown.
Tighten bolts (1-10) to 75 Nm (55 ft. lbs.) in sequence shown.
Tighten bolts (11-20) again to 28 Nm (250 in. lbs.) in sequence shown.
