Infrared Temperature Sensor - Removal

REMOVAL

SEDAN MODEL

NOTE: Take the proper precautions to protect the front face of the overhead console from cosmetic damage while performing this procedure.






NOTE: Typical overhead console shown. Infrared sensor location may vary by model.

1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the overhead console (1) from the headliner and place it on a workbench Overhead Console - Removal.
3. Remove the screw (2) that secures the infrared sensor (3) to the back of the overhead console and remove the sensor.

CONVERTIBLE MODEL





1. Lower the convertible top.
2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
3. Partially remove the windshield header trim panel (1) to gain access to the infrared sensor (2) Header Panel - Removal.
4. Carefully disengage the retaining tabs (3) that secure the infrared sensor to the back of the header trim panel and remove the sensor from the trim panel.
5. Disconnect the wire harness connector (4) from the infrared sensor and remove the sensor from the vehicle.
