Power Windows - Operation
OPERATION
NOTE: For Convertible only. When the glass is removed or adjusted, motor replaced, and/or regulator replaced the door module must be denormalized before it can be calibrated/normalized. Programming and Relearning .
Front and rear door window lift motors are of the permanent magnet type. A battery positive and negative connection to either of the two motor terminals will cause the motor to rotate in one direction. Reversing current through these same two connections will cause the motor to rotate in the opposite direction.
On convertible vehicles, the TIPM supplies power to the driver door module, passenger door module, and the power top control module. The front windows are controlled by the door modules, where the rear windows are controlled by the power top module. When the door(s) are open, the window will go down 10mm (0.39 inch), and after the door(s) are closed the windows will fully close.
On sedan vehicles, the rear windows are controlled by switch directly to motor and by the master switch.
Each individual motor is grounded through the master switch.
EXPRESS DOWN WINDOW FEATURE
This feature allows you to remotely lower both front door windows at the same time. To use this feature, press and release the UNLOCK button on the RKE transmitter and then immediately press and hold the UNLOCK button until the windows lower to the desired level or until they lower completely.
