Front Bumper Reinforcement - Installation

INSTALLATION

BUMPER REINFORCEMENT





1. Support the front bumper reinforcement (3) using a suitable lifting device and lift into position.
2. Install the fasteners (1) securing the reinforcement (3) to the frame rails. Tighten the fasteners to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.) torque.
3. Install the screws (2) securing the reinforcement (3) to frame rails. Tighten the screws securely.

NOTE: Repeat steps 2 and 3 on the opposite side.






4. Install the lower plastic grille (1) to the vehicle.
5. Install the plastic push pins to the bumper and lower support.
6. Install push pin (3) for the air temp sensor onto the lower support.
7. Connect the electrical connector to the air temp sensor (2).





8. Install the front bumper fascia (1). Front Bumper Fascia - Installation.

PEDESTRIAN PROTECTION REINFORCEMENT





NOTE: BUX vehicles only.

1. Position the pedestrian protection reinforcement (1) to the vehicle.





2. Loosely install the bolts (1) securing the pedestrian protection reinforcement brackets (2) to the inboard side of the bumper reinforcement.

NOTE: Use marks made previously to properly position the reinforcement.

3. Align the bracket using the reference marks and tighten the bolts (1) to 20 Nm (15 ft. lbs.). Repeat on opposite side.
4. Install the front fascia, Front Bumper Fascia - Installation.
