Brake/Transmission Shift Interlock Mechanism - Removal

REMOVAL










1. Remove shifter trim bezel (1).










2. Remove PRNDL surround bezel (1). Disconnect lamp bulb harness connector. Disconnect traction control switch connector (if equipped).










3. Remove front center console assembly (1). Move front seats fore and aft to gain access to and remove console base screws.










4. Disconnect battery negative cable.

5. Disconnect BTSI cable (1) from shift mechanism.










6. Disconnect and remove gearshift cable (1) from shift mechanism.










7. Disconnect eight-way harness connector (2).

8. Remove four shift mechanism-to-lower console nuts. Remove shift mechanism (1).
